THE SLEEPER MUST AWAKEN: what you can do to up-level

During this overwhelming time, it’s important to highlight the resourcefulness, ingenuity, and creativity that pulses through the human species. I sit here now and imagine all of the civilizations before us, and the patterns of the human condition that transcend time. This brings me hope. I like us. I love us. We’ll survive. I trust the Earth. I trust us. Yes, we can be utterly annoying and baffling in our own destruction, nevertheless, humans are beautiful in our complexity and vast expressions.

In this same thought train, I find myself thinking of my ancestors. I consider all of the ways they suffered, how they prevailed, and their love and creativity that was their source of life support. I feel them in my heart. I trust my imagination and intuition when I connect with them. I imagine their life support system glowing all around me, giving me life support right now. You can do this too.

It’s natural to buckle under the pressure of the gears that are moving in our world right now- perhaps perpetuating escapism, distractions, or complacency. I’ve been thinking about this quote from Dune lately. I viscerally feel this time as a call to action for us to up-level our consciousness:

“A person needs new experiences. They jar something deep inside, allowing them to grow. Without change, something sleeps inside us, and seldom awakens. The sleeper must awaken.”

-Frank Herbert/ David Lynch’s Dune

This is a still image from a video I created back in 2014. I covered eyes often in my artwork to accentuate my exploration of inner-vision and the clear vision of the heart.

A distorted view of personal agency is not uncommon, especially during oppressive regimes. To counteract this, let’s look to the teachings of Kabbalah asking seekers to continually expand their vessel to hold the energy of Creator/Creatrix. Healing any limiting beliefs that prevent you from valuing yourself as an instrument of abundance, good health, creative power, creative solutions, joy, and radical kindness (more soon on what this means - because it’s not always “nice”) is essential to you realizing yourself as a generative gear that creates change - within yourself and within community.

Why does this matter?

The systems we live in are subconsciously and consciously created and agreed upon by us, the people. We are the power. There were 331,449,281 U.S. citizens recorded through the Census in 2024. This number probably isn’t accurate now, and this doesn’t matter for the point I’m trying to make: If 300 million Americans collectively believe in something nourishing, collaborative and healthy then the system and processes of government would reflect that. But it’s hard for us to collectively believe in a healthy way of being and existing when many of us are spiritually sick and have lost trust in how we are able to create.

Many people feel disempowered, and disconnected from the Sacred. Maybe you feel isolated, unwell, physically exhausted from stress? We are not at fault, but our distractions away from, or complete denial of, personal power does feed the problematic system we currently live in.

When I channel The Peaches (they are peach and pink color energies that share information with me sometimes) and Oona (a collective band of intelligent energies that look like a million diamonds, that are a source divine direction) they tell me that this time is a strong conduit that has great potential to upend the unsustainable systems that we have lived by, and the only way this massive change can happen is if we each understand our contribution. This is a big job for us.

You are not insignificant. No one is. In other words, everyone is significant. Not everyone is following the benevolent guidance of their Soul. They instead follow fear and greed. Now more than ever is it so crucial for each of us to act from the truth of our personal nature; to face the limiting narrative inside our heads and let that confrontation be the key to us each having the courage to live by our own joy and our love.

As we’ve heard before from the wisest sages before us, change yourself to change the world. This change will not be able to take place unless you, me, we wake up to our personal agency, and to our Soul’s power in this place we share and live on.

The element of water represents human emotions. When you ignore your emotions, the water freezes. Observing emotions promotes healthy flow and release.

Here are 4 things you can practice to help restore the strength of your spiritual and personal agency:

  1. CENTER:

Be present. Don’t escape your body. Center you mind into your heart and into your body.

Bring attention to your breath periodically throughout the day. This will strengthen your body awareness/ somatic care.

  2. OBSERVE:

    Practice observing your feelings.

This is an objective evaluation without judgement, or needing to fix or correct. Simply notice what sensations your emotions are producing in your physical body. I know this can seem uncomfortable, but it’s the first step to releasing the charge.

  3. FLUSH:

Bring your breath to areas of your body that have accumulated emotional charge. Breath helps stagnant energy move.

Imagine your inhale and exhale creating a soft current in your body, gently flushing worries and fears downward into the earth.

  4. GROUND:

Bring your breath to your navel, into your center of gravity. Feel heat generate in this area with each breath in and out. Feel your pelvic floor relax, and imagine your nervous system plugged into the earth’s nervous system. Breathe until you feel yourself aligned to your own heart, and your own being.

This 4 step process is an easy technique that will help you be both the Observer and the Observed. The more you practice this, the more you will realize your ability to consciously choose your response in life instead of compulsively reacting to it.

When we love ourselves, we love the earth. When you become self-embodied, you energetically remember you membership in Earth’s body.

Can you imagine what your world would be like if you acted from your heart instead of fear?

(notice I say your world… we share a world that is created by fusing the way we each perceive our individual worlds)

Fear and the mob consciousness can easily derail us from our heart’s intelligent guidance and awareness. If you are on a spiritual quest the number one important thing to do, hands down, is move into your body. Your body is a sacred instrument.

The more tuned your instrument is, the more you can hear the song inside of you (what I call your personal nature) guiding you into a higher level of self awareness, helping you live in your dharma. If you are overwhelmed by the thought of being present with your feelings, I get it. But please don’t turn away from paying attention to yourself in this way.

It’s easier to feel your emotions when you practice plugging your nervous system into the earth’s nervous system. When you do this, you remember that you don’t need to carry all the emotions on your own and you can “flush,” making it considerably less daunting to observe the sensations in your nervous system. Let your feelings flow into the earth, making space for greater ease and clarity. Ground into your Self, into your hope, into your perseverance, into your endurance, into your love, into your forgiveness, into your kindness, into your growth, into your trust.

When you show up reflecting the purity of your personal nature, communication and shared experiences change in a positive way because you’re raising the vibration of love. This big love can only be celebrated in society if you love yourself, deeply and sincerely.

And this is why the sleeper must awaken: If you are asleep to your own vision, your own personal nature, you might say yes to someone else’s dream.

This means you would be living by someone else’s programming instead of your own, and this could feel like a nightmare.

I hope you find this helpful… There is so much beauty and miracle in this world! And there is so much more of own respective natures that we can let shine into the darkness for growth, healing, and positive transformation.

Love, Kat
