Marco??? Polo??? Here I am, resurfacing from an amazing Spring.

Hello, friends.  I'm working on some exciting projects this summer inspired by an Italian saying, "traduttore, traditore," or "translator, traitor" in English.  I am excited to work on a series of videos that are personal and poetic and allowing these new video pieces to speak for themselves, without ruining their existence/presence with translation.  I'm finding that translation can often times retard the original intent and power of a piece.  I am currently re-reading The Poetics of Space by Gaston Bauchelard and I'm thrilled by his philsophy on this matter.

The image is posted with this entry is a still shot from a video performance that didn't make the cut for my last show, "Ursa Major and the Slow Decline."  I still love it, nonetheless.

Cheers!
